Your next vacation can end with you helping a dog in need getting transported to the U.S. and their furever home. You can make a huge difference with little effort through the organization Caribbean Canine Connection.
Wanderlust Travel Boutique wants to let you know about Caribbean Canine Connection (CCC), an amazing organization that works to find homes and provide transportation for island dogs to the states to receive proper healthcare and be transitioned to their new homes.
Caribbean Canine Connection would absolutely love any help from volunteers. Each island has its own system in regards to transporting pups on their Freedom Flights, but the concept is pretty much the same and CCC takes care of all the logistics.
How It Works
Basically, whomever is traveling and wants to transport a pup to the states can reach out to Caribbean Canine Connection who will connect with a rescue or shelter on the island. The volunteer will then provide their return flight information—and the organization works together with the rescue or shelter to take care of the details.
Generally, the pup is dropped off at the airport, all vetted and ready to go with all of his or her paperwork, and already paid for, at whatever time is requested, and all the escort volunteer has to do is enjoy having a furry friend accompany them on their flight home. The pup travels in-cabin with the escort, so it is a really fun, happy and fulfilling experience.
The CCC will have arranged either the pup’s adopter or a volunteer to be waiting when the plane lands to scoop up the pup from you.
Caribbean Canine Connection also organizes a Whattsap or Facebook Messenger communications group that day so that all folks involved in the drop-off, transport, and pick-up can communicate, and all goes smoothly.

The islands that Caribbean Canine Connection have been working with or have connected with thus far are: British Virgin Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Antigua, St. Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Aruba, Turks & Caicos, St. Martin & Anguilla, Barbados, Bahamas & Out- Islands, Grenada & Carriacou.
There are SO many island-pups that need our help, and we are working on saving as many as we are able- one tail at a time!
