Surrounded by a stunning desert landscape, this city offers plenty of opportunities to relax, refresh, and take in the arts.

There are many lavish resorts to choose from depending on your intentions.  From spa escapes, to endless family-friendly activities or golf getaways there is something for everyone in Scottsdale.

After a week-long visit to experience the dry heat, desert landscape and some of the kindest and

most welcoming people I have come across in the US, I look forward to planning your getaway to this special destination.

Whether you are traveling solo to refresh, as a couple looking for R&R, a family hoping to enjoy some quality time in a new place, or a small group looking for a wellness or golf retreat we can match you with the perfect property to fit your travel tastes and needs.

Here is a sneak peek at a few of the properties I visited:

Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa

With its artful décor, relaxed urban vibe and casual luxury experience, Andaz is a fresh, urban retreat located in the heart of the Sonoran Desert and so close to the shopping, restaurants, and bars of Old Town Scottsdale.  While the hotel accepts all travelers, I recommend it for couple’s getaways or ladies’ gatherings.

Art lovers will enjoy the Cattle Track Tour that is offered three times a week. Guests are taken to the Cattle Track Arts Compound to meet the artists who fill Andaz Scottsdale with their inspirational work.

Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa

Situated on 53 acres, high above the Valley, the Sanctuary recalls the era when the finest resorts were elegant and intimate.  The seventy-four newly remodeled spacious and luxurious casitas offer guests ages 16 and up unparalleled privacy and peace. During the day enjoy fitness classes, tennis, hiking trails or biking. Renew while indulging in Asian-inspired spa treatments and relax in a cabana by the infinity-edge pool. In the evening, take in extraordinary views of Paradise Valley from the Jade Bar and dine on farm-fresh American cuisine by Food Network star and Executive Chef Beau MacMillan at Elements Restaurant.

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

This newly renovated 750-room Resort offers impressive views of the top-ranked TPC Scottsdale Stadium Golf Course. Boasting six swimming pools including Sunset Beach with 830 tons of white sand, a Well & Being Spa, two championship golf courses, the Trailblazers Family Adventure Center for kids ages 5-12, and five restaurants and lounges this resort offers a variety of activities and experiences for every member of the family.

Being a personal fan of smaller properties, I found the Fairmont Gold section to be the perfect hotel-within-a-hotel offering 66 guest rooms and suites, a private Gold-member lounge and unparalleled service by a superb staff.

The adult-only spa was a wellness haven. With a wide range of fitness classes, spa treatments and a rooftop pool with food/drink service you can spend an entire day at this serene sanctuary.

Families keep in mind the property is always hosting fun events such as superhero summer and winter wonderland, so this is the perfect place for a memorable holiday vacation.
