You might already know about the Universal Express Pass that can be purchased in addition to your park tickets to skip the lines on some of the best rides in the parks, but did you know that Universal offers a VIP Experience that has even more benefits than the Express Pass?
I recently had a Private VIP Experience and it was such a great way to navigate the parks with celebrity-like treatment. It is best to book your VIP Experience in advance, as there are only so many slots available each day. If you would like an even more personalized day I recommend choosing the Private VIP Experience. When you purchase the VIP Experience keep in mind that park tickets are not included in the experience. With the VIP Experience you don’t need the Express Pass because you get priority front-of-the-line access on any of the rides you want to experience. This even includes the Harry Potter attractions that are not eligible for Express Pass holders. On our tour we went through separate entrances and to the front of the line for every single attraction we chose to go on. It was so cool!
If possible the best time to do your VIP Experience is the first day you have in the parks, so that you get an introduction to everything and can always go back later to things you did not get to do or things you want to do again.
The Private VIP Experience is exclusive to you and your party. You can customize your itinerary to do what you want, when you want. For the non-private VIP Experience your group will be matched up with another group (no more than 12 people total) and you will discuss upon arrival what everyone wants to do and the tour guide will make a game plan for the day based on your requests. Any family with more than 5 members must purchase the Private VIP Experience. You are guaranteed to do 10-12 attractions during your experience and there is the possibility for more.
The Private VIP Experience includes a continental breakfast and both lunch and dinner at the full-service restaurants of your choice and the non-private VIP Experience includes a continental breakfast and lunch at a quick-service restaurant of the groups choice.
In the VIP Experience you can also get behind the scenes exclusives. We went behind the scenes of the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man to see how the ride works and all that goes into maintaining the attraction.
Other benefits of the VIP Experience include insider tips from the VIP tour guides, character meet-and-greets, reserved seating at shows, special viewing areas for Universal’s Superstar Parade™ and Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular™ nighttime show, discounts at select Universal Orlando Resort™ owned and operated full-service dining and/or merchandise locations within the theme parks, and complimentary valet parking for one vehicle.
The tour guides are outstanding. They go through months of rigorous training and testing to know every single detail about the parks. I know because I asked my guide thousands of questions throughout the day and she never hesitated with a single answer.
Here are just a few scenarios where I think families would especially appreciate the VIP Tours:
- If anyone in your party has special needs. The tour guide knows all the ins and outs of the parks to make your experience as fun and manageable as possible.
- If adults don’t like roller coasters but the children do the tour guide will ride any of the rides with the children.
- If you don’t like waiting in line for any ride, ever.
- If someone wants to go on a ride 15 times in a row, they will let you do it.
- If you are die hard Harry Potter fan and want to know every single thing about Harry Potter and spend your entire time in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter that can be arranged.
- If your group wants to do the water rides you have a private building you can go in to change into your clothes for the water rides and then can change back into your dry clothes when you are done the water activities.
