The Inside Scoop
My husband and I recently stayed in a Swim-Up Casita ground floor suite and absolutely loved every part of our experience. We could eat outside on our patio, relax in the lazy river and swim over to the pool bar.
If you prefer to be on the second floor I recommend the Infinity Pool Casita Suite where you will have the ultimate privacy.
The unique layout of the property has all units in either one or two-story casitas set in eight separate enclaves. Each enclave has it’s own pool and bar. We loved the fact that our pool was never crowded, there were always open beach chairs and hammocks and of course you get to know the bar tender that is available from 9am-5pm.
Special Occasions
The One Bedroom Presidential Casita Suite is the way to go. These 1,428 sq.ft. butler service rooms are directly on the beach, have an oversized oceanfront terrace, private pool, private beach area and an outdoor hammock.
I could have lived off the room service, but there are 12 different dining options that you must also try. Only two restaurants, Santa Fe and Fuentes, need reservations and your concierge can arrange your reservations for you. The Casita guests can use the restaurants and hotel amenities of either the El Dorado Casitas Royale or the sister properties it sits between: El Dorado Royale and Generations Riviera Maya. Guests from the other properties are not allowed to use the pools of the Casitas and can only get restaurant reservations if there is open availability after the Casita guests.
There is a 20,000 sq.ft. spa with an impressive menu of treatments. I spent an afternoon at the spa and enjoyed the water journey and a wonderful facial.
El Dorado Casitas Royale is a where couples can enjoy relaxation and the options for as little or as much activity as you like. They are now also offering the ability to book an entire enclave for group travel.
