Spanish shops are typically open at 10am and close at 8pm – with many closing for business in the middle of the day. Many are closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays. El Corte Inglés stores typically have more flexible hours than other stores. Madrid is the only store open on Sundays; other days stores are open 10am-10pm.

International shoppers from outside the European Union enjoy the tax refund of up to 15.7% of purchases, one of the highest globally. To start the tax claim process, simply proceed to the in-store International Shopping Bureau where the dedicated team will assist you, so you don’t have to wait in line at the airport.
